What we do

Health and wellbeing is a core feature of many of our projects. We provide support for people with dementia and their carers. The Braeport Centre provides affordable hall hire to many local groups that support physical and mental health. Many of our working groups help ensure that Dunblane
has the infrastructure needed for active travel, and a restorative environment.

Dunblane Development Trust first started with projects connected to the environment (Dunblane in Bloom and the Mid-Week DIY Group). We now have several other groups also helping maintain and improve the natural and build environment around Dunblane. We also have a variety of other projects connected to the environment and sustainability.

In 1993 the Trust took on ownership of the Braeport Community Centre from the Council to ensure ongoing community benefit. We also respond to community needs by providing projects, events and activities that benefit the local community. In the last year this has included a ceilidh, EcoFest, and games mornings. We support other community events such as the Fling. We used to run a facilities forum for Dunblane which we hope to reestablish.

We work in partnership with the Community Council and Stirling Council to help support economic development. Our new Town Centre Development Group is working with local businesses, including running the successful Christmas Extravaganza. We also own and manage the Riverview Building in the High Street which supports a successful craft business. We are hoping to take on the shop currently known as Mary’s Meals to ensure its valuable contribution to the community is not lost.
