E-bike Loan Scheme 2023-03-24T09:57:24+00:00

Community E-bike Loan Scheme

We aim to promote cycling for everyday travel by local residents through demonstrating how e-bike can be an alternative to cars for local short journeys and commuting purposes. From a modest start with one e-bike in 2018, this volunteer run scheme now has 5 ebikes of various styles and a cargo trailer available for loan by any adult living or working in Dunblane, Ashfield or Kinbuck. Thanks are due to a variety of funders (see below). Free supervised trials can be followed by a bike loan for up to 4 weeks during which there are guided ride opportunities to explore local leisure or commuting routes and to improve road cycling confidence. To cover maintenance costs, there is a service charge for loans.

Something New for 22 : During 2022, we will be supporting the ‘Breeze’ ride approach to develop local cycling for women. Rides are free, relaxed and aimed at women cyclists of all ages and cycling stages, using any type of bike or e-bike. More info from Angie Sword : angie.cycle247@gmail.com
